An Electrician is a tradesman specialising in electrical wiring and fittings. Work undertaken may involve construction of new building or maintainence of existing electrical infrastructure. In most countries electrician is a regulated trade for safety reasons, requiring qualification and registration.
In British slang an electrician is sometimes referred to as a "sparky".
